PRO 30 : Dengue fever / all type of viral fever and cold

Causes:

• Dengue fever is caused by the dengue virus, which is primarily transmitted to humans through the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes, particularly Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus.
• The virus has four distinct serotypes (DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4), and infection with one serotype does not provide immunity against the others. In fact, subsequent infections with different serotypes can increase the risk of severe dengue.
• Dengue fever outbreaks often occur in tropical and subtropical regions with high mosquito populations, especially during the rainy season when breeding sites are abundant.

Symptoms:

• Sudden Onset: Symptoms typically appear 4 to 10 days after the bite of an infected mosquito.
• High Fever: Abrupt onset of high fever, often reaching 104°F (40°C) or higher, lasting 2 to 7 days.
• Severe Headache: Intense headache, often behind the eyes, exacerbated by eye movements.
• Muscle and Joint Pain: Severe muscle and joint pain, often described as “breakbone fever” due to its intensity.
• Fatigue: Profound weakness, fatigue, and malaise, with a feeling of exhaustion.
• Skin Rash: Characteristic skin rash that may appear 2 to 5 days after the onset of fever, typically starting on the trunk and spreading to the limbs.
